Vanessa Cáceres is a Colombian-born filmmaker, writer, and producer who believes in cinema’s power to connect people through stories that reveal our shared humanity. Guided by compassion and authenticity, her work fosters empathy and understanding across cultures while shedding light on urgent social issues.
As the co-writer and co-producer of Invisible America (formerly Undocumented), Vanessa helped craft a deeply human story about the resilience and dignity of immigrants in the United States, told through an intimate, character-driven lens.
She also co-produced My Friend Omar, a documentary supported by the CMF, Radio-Canada, and CBC, which exposes the challenges faced by Canada’s temporary foreign workers trapped by restrictive permit systems. The film has been praised for its sensitivity and its ability to give voice to those too often left unseen.
Vanessa is currently producing DRC, a gripping international thriller that explores the hidden human cost of child labor in developing countries — a project that continues her commitment to blending powerful storytelling with social impact.
Through her company, Righteous Pictures, Vanessa aims to create meaningful, globally resonant stories that bridge borders and inspire change.
