Eligibility

Who can apply?

Applicants must meet all of the following minimum eligibility criteria:

  • Be a woman, non-binary, or Two-Spirit
  • Be a Canadian resident
  • Be building a business that produces,and/or distributes, content creation or monetization within the screen-based industries. This includes content production, traditional or streaming broadcast platforms, international distribution, animation.
  • A production company with at least one producer credit on a factual or dramatic feature film, or a television series released via broadcast or streaming
  • Be applying with a business that is based in Canada.
  • The existing business has a minimum of 20% equity owned by women.
  • The business must be privately held and not listed on any exchanges anywhere in the world.
  • Be available to attend (full day) series of virtual workshops 
  • Be available to attend the BANFF World Media Festival on location in Banff, Alberta in June 13-17, 2027.

* Please note: individual productions or media projects do not qualify for participation in BANFF Spark: Producers Edition.
