Trinni Franke
Award-winning writer/producer
After completing a Masters in Producing for Film and Television at the esteemed Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS), Trinni Franke entered the Canadian production industry in 2009, specializing in distribution, film marketing, and production. She has collaborated with esteemed companies including Triptych Media, Strada Films, Cineplex Front Row & Centre, A71 Productions, and Willis Sweete Productions.
In 2017, Franke partnered with director Winnifred Jong on the satirical comedy Tokens, which won a Canadian Screen Award. She produced and co-wrote two seasons of the show, which premiered on Apple TV and The Roku Channel, with an upcoming release on Amazon Prime.
An alumna of NSI Features First, Franke co-produced the high-octane apocalyptic film SuperGrid (2019), directed by Lowell Dean (known for Wolfcop, Die Alone, and Dark Match). With funding from Ontario Creates, Telefilm, and the Bell Fund Slate program, she has a full slate of projects in development. These include the comedy-horror Sex Ghost (directed by Lowell Dean), a millennial-driven coming-of-age feature The Greatest (written by Devon Bain), and the workplace comedy Hospitality (created by improv whiz Mona Hersi).
Most recently, her career saw the premiere of Rien De Mal (directed by Samuel Plante, produced by Josh Ary), which she executive produced. She is also co-producing the IPF-funded short series Gardens with creators Mazi Kahligi and Jason Arsenault.
