With a rich background in both English and French scripted and unscripted projects, Debra Kouri brings a dynamic blend of creativity and expertise to every production. Whether crafting compelling series, documentary treatments, or full narrative scripts, her work spans the entire production spectrum from innovative development to final delivery. She thrives on the creative process, serving as the driving force behind various scripted and factual projects, ensuring they stay on track creatively, logistically and financially.

Her experience also includes navigating the complexities of production budgets, soft/hard money in financing structures and cash flows with precision, alongside her excellent negotiation skills. With deep industry connections across Canada and abroad, Debra has co-created unscripted formats that have been successfully sold and adapted into international formats, as well as having produced foreign formats for North American audiences.

Fluently bilingual and bicultural, she effortlessly switches between English and French, producing content that resonates in both languages. She’s methodical and strategic yet has a warm, transparent and collaborative producing approach driven by a genuine passion for impactful storytelling. She’s regularly mandated to provide her Consulting Producer services to a variety of well-known production companies, while also passionate about mentoring emerging BIPOC talent in order to foster the next generation of badass producers, sometimes acting as EP on their projects to help them get their productions made. In addition, she sits on the board of directors of the Quebec English-language Production Council and lobbies public and private financiers for additional OLMC support across the country.
