Ananya Ohri

Ananya was born in India, and moved to Canada when she was 10 years old. She was the Executive Director at the Regent Park Film Festival in Toronto for 7 years, where she facilitated greater engagement with works by BIPOC filmmakers and cultivated opportunities for career development for emerging artists. At RPFF, Ananya also founded and directed the Lieutenant General Award winning project called Home Made Visible, which worked to preserve old home movies for BIPOC families. Driven by her experience programming for school aged children and consuming media alongside her own kids, Ananya is motivated to cultivate a greater, and more complex, diversity both in front of and behind the screen in the Film and TV industry. Ananya is currently Producing an animated series for children that she co-created with writer Fiona Raye Clarke. Together they have formed Bussup Media, focused on creating work and nurturing talent that help centre joy within BIPOC narratives.
