COHORT 3 PARTICIPANT

Laura Heath Potter is a Consulting Producer and Independent Producer. With more than 20 years of film and television experience, she has developed and cultivated relationships with a large network of contacts within the production, broadcast, streaming, and distribution industries. A creative problem solver whose strategic thinking and counsel is sought and trusted by top-level executives, she has worked on award-winning films and original series across many genres, including both scripted and unscripted.

As a Consulting Producer Heath Potter utilizes her solid business acumen, industry knowledge and communications and publicity experience to advise new productions and producers as they navigate Content Partner relationships, deliverables, and expectations.

Heath Potter is also an emerging Independent Producer partnering on female-led and/or female-focused content. She is cultivating and working with writers and directors who are developing and writing both scripted and factual content. Her notable experience from various sectors of the industry brings a unique perspective to the creative development and pitching process.

With a background in both film and television, Heath Potter was previously the Director of Communications for Bell Media’s CTV Networks. Joining the company in 2005, she oversaw the publicity and communications for CTV’s acquired, in-house and original Canadian programs as well as Social PR and Talent Relations. Previously, Heath Potter held various positions with Odeon Films, Corus Entertainment and The Toronto International Film Festival. She is currently a member of the Women in Film and Television Toronto Foundation Board and is the Chair of their Fundraising Committee.
