Michelle Morris is the CEO of Lily Pictures where she produces feature films for international audiences. She sits on several committees of the Canada Media Producer’s Association. She is a Trans-Atlantic Partners alumnus and a 1st AD member in the Directors Guild. Her 30-year career, and over 50 projects, began on Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall’s A Map of The World, and Guillermo del Toro’s, Mimic.
Living a childhood in Iran, and travelling the world at a young age, inspired Michelle’s interest in cultures. This experience draws her to seek projects that reflect diversity in our world, most recently on Métis creators Alexander Lasheras’ THE BEEHIVE and Marie Clements’ feature RED SNOW.
Michelle is in development with features, THE MAN WHO REFUSED TO DIE (The Bob Gauchie Story); Anne Wheeler’s biographical feature RUDE AWAKENING, supported by Telefilm, The Harold Greenberg Fund and Creative BC; Cowichan Director Mary Galloway and Kerri Borsuk’s feature doc RENEGADE, supported by Telefilm and Creative BC; and ABADAN, her own dramatic limited series of a Canadian ex-pat family caught in the 1978 Iranian revolution.
Michelle obtained her honours BFA from York University, an MA from Staffordshire University (UK) and is an Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia.
