Tia Taurere Clearsky of Whaea Productions is Indigenous from the Ngapuhi/Te
Aupouri Nations of Aotearoa - New Zealand, born in the Kulin Nation of
Melbourne, Australia.
Specializing in authentic Indigenous media Tia has contributed as an Editor, DOP / camera operator for numerous productions nationally and internationally including broadcast TV programming, news, short and feature films and documentaries. Tia has had films premiere at ImagineNative Film Festival and Vancouver International Film Festival 2020 and a feature documentary screening at The American Indian Film Festival and Red Nation Film Festival 2021. She has been nominated twice for a Leo Award in the category of Best Editor for an APTN’s children’s series. She collaborates with Spotted Fawn Productions, worked on CBC’s Indspire Award 2021 and Maori Television’s Te Ao News reporting at the Toronto International Film Festivals Premiere of JoJo Rabbit, a Taika Waititi film.
