Katie has always been a writer, either of her own original materials, or working with writers she has produced with, to develop their material. She is in development on the TV series, “Recovery,” with funding from Screen Ireland and Creative BC. Her original script “Nursie” was one of five projects accepted into the Whistler Film Festival’s “Women on Top” program as well as the Edinburgh Film Festival Pitch Lab. She is currently recording an 8 part scripted podcast of this story.

In early 2021, Katie was part of the selective Pacific Screenwriting Program, a 10 week writers’ room run by Will Pascoe (Absentia). This was followed by 5 weeks of business meetings and polishing her script “Anvil Sound” with her mentor, Semi Chellas. In early 2022, Katie will participate in the CMPA’s International Co-Production Accelerator program with her sci-fi TV script, “The Remnants.”
