Eva Thomas

Eva Thomas is a proud member of the Walpole Island First Nation; she is also Tohono O’odham, Cherokee and Scottish. As a creator and storyteller, she is passionate about diverse stories and the portrayal of Indigenous people in a contemporary context.

Eva is committed to mentorship and has mentored several writers in the imagineNATIVE Features Lab, the MAGEE TV Diverse Writers Program, and the Women in Film & Television-Vancouver’s Tricksters and Writers Program.

As a story editor, Eva enjoys working with writers to craft the story, characters and script. This close working relationship with writers has transitioned into the role of producer on several projects. She is interested in the creative process and the magic of collaboration.

Eva was selected for the 2019 Telefilm Talent-to-Watch Program, the 2020 NSI Totally Television Program, the 2021 Women in View-Five in Focus: Indigenous Program and the 2021 Women in the Director's Chair (WIDC).

In the summer of 2021, she was the Director Shadow for two feature films: Darlene Naponse’s Stellar and Gail Maurice’s Rosie

Currently, Eva is working on her first feature film, "Tina & Lisa", which she plans to direct. Plus, she has four TV projects in development.

In 2021, she founded EVA THOMAS INC. as a production company to produce diverse content.
