Monique Hurteau, MBA, of Through and Thru Films is a producer, writer, director and fellow of the 2019 Netflix-Banff Diversity of Voices Pitch Program.
Monique is also a multi-disciplinary artist whose work has been exhibited in the Canadian Museum of History and her paintings can be seen in the US, UK + across Canada. She's also performed stand-up comedy across Canada, appeared on CTV and as a writer for the iconic Canadian comedy series, CBC's The Debaters as well as the Indigenous Music Awards and the opening events of the Canadian Museum of Human Rights.
In 2019, she was 1 of 4 women from across Canada chosen by Eagle Vision to write + direct for The Truth Sharing Podcasts commissioned by the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls. She also wrote produced + co-directed, the 2016 documentary Chasing Lear.
A ravenous learner, Monique holds a Master’s of Business Administration with a specialization in Management Consulting and is an alumna of Women in the Director's Chair 2019 Career Advancement Module and 2019 Story + Leadership programs.
